Cherry Gift Card Set
Hi all! I've been awaaaaaay from my Cricut for a long time, and it's good to be back.
I made a new gift set for a friend's birthday. She is a cherry freak, so it's a cherry gift card set. Hope you like 'em. If anyone is interested in the files for a particular card, let me know. They would be just the basic card itself and a few cherry designs that I cut - you'll have to come up with your own doodads, borders and ribbons. There were 8 cards in all, but one of the pix was so bad, I just said, "Forget it!" : ) Please forgive the numerous bad pix that actually made it on the page!
I got the directions for the gift box from Diane over at Capadia Designs: http://capadiadesigns.blogspot.com/2009/01/step-by-step-guide-to-making-note-card.html. It's not one you cut on your Cricut, but it's a breeze to put together, and her directions are great. It holds 8 A2 note cards and 8 envelopes beautifully. Thanks again, Diane, for all your creativity.

Love (that) Bug!
Sideways view of window "glass".
I'm really getting into this car-card thing. Loved doing the 1955 Ford pickup, but this VW Bug topped that. It was so much fun to design. It was requested by someone on the Yahoo SCALHints group. My little sis has a bug, so this card will be going to her for her birthday, although I'll have to put a Gerber daisy in the window in order to make it really hers. The sentiment could say, "You're not old...you're a classic." Or my personal favorite, "Some things just get better with age. Happy Birthday!" The card fits in a standard A2 envelope with room to spare on the sides. Hope you like it.
The file actually has another piece to it that I decided not to use since I was using a rather busy print. It is the part that the actual engine hood sits on (what do you call it, car people?) I would use it if I were cutting from a solid color paper, and chalk the edges. I did chalk the edges of the engine hood, to give it some definition. My car has an acrylic rear windshield, which I cut on my Cricut. It was part of some packaging for a string of deck lights, and it cut beautifully.
The designing of this file took quite a while, as you can imagine. The svg file, plus the scut2 file, along with directions for assembly are included in the price of $5.00 USD. Please use the Donate button for ordering, and leave a note in the comments box telling me which file it is that you want. Upon notification from Paypal of funds received, I will email you the svg, the scut2 file, and the instructions for making the card. Thanks you for your interest!

Bold Graphic GRAD card
I just love bold graphics - whether on cards, home decor or fashion. My sweetie and I went to Philadelphia last year as part of our vacation (if you ever go you HAVE to see The Magic Gardens at 1020 South Street. Oh my goodness!!! http://www.phillymagicgardens.org/) We saw the iconic LOVE graphic art at the fountains downtown, and I saw a little girl wearing a T-shirt with the graphic on GMA the other day, and it hit me that I could make a few cool graduation cards pretty quickly with this graphic. Hope you can use it. It fits perfectly on the front of a 5x5" square card, and I have already posted directions for making an envelope to fit this size card, as well as a recipe for homemade envelope glue.

Darth Vader Birthday Card
My son-in-law is a huge Star Wars geek, I mean fan. We celebrated his 30th birthday on Mother's Day, and I gave him this card. I think he was thrilled....He liked what was included with the card, anyway, if not the sentiment.
The svg for the 2-layer face is here.
The svg for the helmet-shaped card is here.
It was kindly brought to my attention that I couldn't sell licensed items such as good old Darth's head - oops! I should have known that, and thanks to Darthkat for letting me know. I hadn't sold any of them anyway, so...it's all good.

Daisy Card Gift Set
I posted about finding these little boxes at the dollar store a few weeks ago. I used them to make some gift sets for my mom and mother-in-law. Quite a few pix for the cards. Some of the designs are mine, and some are from Wanda at http://WandasCrafts.blogspot.com. She does beautiful work - thanks, Wanda! I made envelopes to match, and made some envelope glue that's lick-able (cinnamon!) Hope you like 'em.

Bundle of Joy
OK - It was one of those sleepless, arthritic nights that I am getting somewhat used to. I awoke up around 2 AM, and almost instantly this little swaddled baby came to my mind, and then of course I couldn't wait to get to my computer to work on the design. The baby's face actually is cut from the blanket, and folded over to pop up beneath the layers of blanket. It is supported with two layers of 3D dots.
The svg includes the blanket pieces, the baby's head (no face - I used a stamp for this), the wording, the jumbo scalloped border and under-border, and the tiny flowers that are filling the 'e' and 'o'. The daisy swag is from my dressmaker's trimmings box, but you can find it at Joann on a ribbon spool in their scrapbooking department. It is made by Wrights, and is called "Daisy Chain". The svg is $1.50 USD. Please use the Donate button to purchase, and leave a note about which file it is that you want. Upon notification from Paypal of funds received, I will email you the svg. Thanks a bunch!

Dollar Store Boxes
I found these adorable boxes at the Dollar Store yesterday, and thought they would make cute gifts, filled with cards & lined envelopes. They have a magnetic clasp to hold them shut, and will almost fit an A2. The inside measurements are 5 3/8W x 4½L x 1½ inches deep. I may have to make my own envelopes, but I almost always do that, anyway. They were in with their Easter stuff. Happy hunting.

Two more baby cards - what can I say...It's a freakin' epidemic!
Both of these were inspired by cards I had seen a while back. I copied them to my computer without making a note of the creator(s), not knowing that I would ever make and publish a card from the ideas. If you are the creator, or know where I found these, if you send me a link, I will give credit where credit is due, including a link.

"Adorable" Card
I am certainly in the new baby card mode these days, for sure. I actually do have preggers to give them all to, but I do love making them. For this one I used Plantin, Cuttin' Up, Walk in My Garden (flowers), and Joys of the Season (sprig).
Here's the screen shot and link to download the cut file:

Valentine Easel Card with Envelope
I had so much fun making this little 4x4" card for my best friend, Lori, for Valentine's Day. She loves cherries. I used some of the packaging from some Mary Engelbreit stickers, as well as one of the stickers for the focal point. I'm still trying to figure out how to make an envelope for a 4x4 card using the Martha Stewart scoring tool (which I absolutely LOVE!) I'll try and get that worked out to go with this card. The one I made is a tad on the skimpy side.
If you can't make out what it says...
"It's not so much what's on the table that matters, as much as what's on the chairs."
Love that ; ) After I took this picture, I changed the hair on the woman on the right to look like my wild auburn 'do, and drew on my black glasses. Looks just like us!

Glad You're Feeling Better Card
I made this card for a friend who's been through the wringer this year. So glad she's finally feeling better. I used Plantin and Walk in My Garden. Sorry so blurry : )
The importance of cards
I am so bad at following through. You know how you hear of someone who is having health problems, or is struggling in some way or another and could use some encouragement or a kind word, and you think, "I need to send them a card,"? I do that all the time, but never seem to get around to it. That is, until just recently. My kids bought me a Cricut for my birthday, and I am now looking for reasons to make and send cards. And having a blast in the process. Just the other day a friend called to say how much she appreciated the card I sent, especially that it was a handmade card. In encouraging someone else, I am now encouraged. Send someone a card today to show them how special they are to you.
