Pastor Appreciation Gift Card Box

Although October is pastor appreciation month, due to busy schedules, we are having our pastors for dinner with our small group this week. Our youth pastor & his wife have just moved into town, and have a "new" house to settle into, so we are giving them gift cards to help with that process. I made a box that the stack of gift cards would fit into, but didn't want to just top it with a bow, so I used Lori's toolbox template to make the topper, and I had the Jolee's boutique dimensional tool stickers in my stash, just waiting for the perfect project. I designed the pizza box with inspiration from one on melstampz.blogspot.com (link) (she also has an incredible 'leather' tool belt box template and tutorial here). Just when I had exhausted my search for a 3D toolbox, and was about to design one myself, I found this one (don't have a blog to point you to, unfortunately. Thank you, Fatima, wherever you are.) I reworked it for my needs, and my finished svg file is here. Send me a pic if you make it - I love to see your creativity. The finished toolbox measures 3"w x 2"d x 2 3/4"h (3 3/4"h including the handle), and is large enough to hold a gift card.

Daisy 3x3 Gift Card Set

Hi all,
I've been away so long, I've probably lost you all! Computer was out of commission, and my drive where I save all my files died. Eeek! I had backed them up just a week before, thank goodness, and am awaiting the arrival of a new drive & more memory. Anyway, I've been working on several designs I haven't cut, yet, and hope to get to them soon. A couple of them are design-intensive classic cars - a Corvette and a '57 Chevy.
In the meantime, I made this little card set for a friend as a thank you for some great food & flowers while I was sick last week. I found the inspiration on Splitcoast Stampers. The stamp on the top says, "Thank You", with daisies around it, and there's a little fabric daisy on the center of the bow.

Babyface Favor Box

In my shameless, burning desire for more grandbabies, I have designed yet another baby-related shower accessory: a baby-faced favor box.

The box is a 1½ inch cube - just the right size for a good handful of pastel butter mints or pink or blue M&M's. It is sized for cutting on a Baby Bug, but could be enlarged for a larger cutter/larger gift - maybe even to wrap the mom-to-be's gift in. I used a pale peach paper for the face, which is glued to the top flaps of the box. I also made a face stencil so that you could marker-in the areas under the facial cutouts. I used rosy chalk to give the baby's cheeks, chin & ears a blush. The face & curl can be cut from whatever color matches the new mommy & daddy's complexions/hair color.

The svgs for the box and it's components, along with the face stencil and a picture of the finished box, and a sheet of tips is included in the price of $5.00 US. Upon notification from Paypal of funds received, I will email you the appropriate files, including the scut2 files for cutting on a Cricut. Please use the "Donate" button to order, and leave a note telling me which file it is that you want. Thanks for your interest! I appreciate your business so much!

Cherry Gift Card Set

Hi all!  I've been awaaaaaay from my Cricut for a long time, and it's good to be back.
I made a new gift set for a friend's birthday. She is a cherry freak, so it's a cherry gift card set. Hope you like 'em. If anyone is interested in the files for a particular card, let me know. They would be just the basic card itself and a few cherry designs that I cut - you'll have to come up with your own doodads, borders and ribbons. There were 8 cards in all, but one of the pix was so bad, I just said, "Forget it!" : ) Please forgive the numerous bad pix that actually made it on the page!

I got the directions for the gift box from Diane over at Capadia Designs: http://capadiadesigns.blogspot.com/2009/01/step-by-step-guide-to-making-note-card.html. It's not one you cut on your Cricut, but it's a breeze to put together, and her directions are great. It holds 8 A2 note cards and 8 envelopes beautifully. Thanks again, Diane, for all your creativity.

Rose-topped Scalloped Favor Box

I have seen these done with punches, but I wanted a cut file for my Cricut. I made a few changes to the actual flower parts to make it easier to put together. I designed the rose leaves, and added it to the top of my Scalloped Favor Box, which is just the right size for some mints or wrapped chocolates, or even a Tim Bit, which is what my daughter had for her wedding favors.

I love this little rose. it is so real looking. I chalked the edges of some of the petals to give it depth, but it looks just as pretty without doing that. The box is a 1½" cube, and the rose measures 7/8" across and 5/8" high - tiny! It takes about 3-5 minutes to form the flower, using a pencil and some hot glue (I suggest low temp - trust me on this), so this would definitely be doable on a large scale for wedding or shower favor boxes.

The svg for the box with flower is $5.00 USD. Upon notification from Paypal of funds received, I will email you the svg's for both the scalloped Favor Box and the Rose with Leaves, as well as the scut2 file, and a sheet of directions with a picture of the finished rose-topped box. Please use the Donate button to order, and leave a note telling me which file it is that you want.

Thanks for your support - it means so much to me!

Father's Day Briefcase Card

This one was so fun to make. I used a crocodile-look paper, but you could do it in black or brown plain paper or emboss it with a leather or croc-look embossing folder, too. The Briefcase measures 3½" x 2 1/8" closed, and is oh so cute! ; )

The svg is $2.50 USD. Please use the Donate button to order, and leave a note in the 'Purpose' line, telling me which file it is you are ordering. Upon notification from Paypal of funds received, I will email you the svg and the scut2 file. Thanks so much for your interest!

A2 Envelobox for Embellished Cards Using The Martha Stewart Score Board

I have seen the directions for these before, but I have never had one turn out for me - always too skimpy in the gluing area - so I reinvented the wheel.

NOTE: I have marked the 6" line on my score board with a fine-tipped permanent marker, from top to bottom. This makes it so much easier to line things up. You will need to do this for this envelobox.

Materials:
Heavy paper or cardstock, double-sided if you want a lined-envelobox look
Double Stick tape
Homemade envelope glue - see this blog for recipe
  1. Cut paper to an 8½" square.
  2. Align top & bottom points at the 6" mark. Score at: 2 7/8", 3 1/8", 8 7/8", & 9 1/8".
  3. Turn the paper 90 degrees, aligning the top and bottom points at the 6" mark, and score at: 3½", 3¾", 8½", 8¾", and 11 5/8". This last score is on the bottom flap. It will fold over to the inside of the box.
  4. Cut out the triangles that were formed where the scores intersected, cutting to the inner scoreline, and cutting on the outside of the score lines.
  5. Fold on the scorelines. Apply double-stick tape along the outside edges of the bottom flap, going all the way to the tip. Lay the envelobox on your work surface, and while carefully holding the sides in place, fold the bottom flap up over the sides and gently press into place without pressing down on the taped tuck-in flap. Fold this tuck-in to the inside and press, adhering it to itself.
  6. Apply homemade envelope glue or double-stick tape to the edges of the top flap, and allow to dry if using glue. I'm not sure how well this glue holds, so you may need to test it, especially if you're mailing this envelobox.

Daisy Card Gift Set

I posted about finding these little boxes at the dollar store a few weeks ago. I used them to make some gift sets for my mom and mother-in-law. Quite a few pix for the cards. Some of the designs are mine, and some are from Wanda at http://WandasCrafts.blogspot.com. She does beautiful work - thanks, Wanda! I made envelopes to match, and made some envelope glue that's lick-able (cinnamon!) Hope you like 'em.

Daisy-topped, Scalloped-edge Favor Box

I made these for a friend who was hosting the rehearsal dinner for her son's wedding. The box is a 1½" cube, and can be topped with whatever your little heart desires, or just left plain. I love the little scallops. A friend helped make them, and asked for one in the blue and yellow combo.

The svg is $5.00 USD. Please use the Donate button to purchase, and leave a note about which file it is that you want. Upon notification from Paypal of funds received, I will email you the svg. Thanks a bunch!

Butterfly Favor Boxes

These were one of those late-night brain storm thingies. I needed a quick and easy favor box for a friend's daughter's baby shower, which had the theme of butterflies & flowers. I spent a LONG time working on some fancy flowers & butterflies to put on top of the favor boxes, and then I remembered the file I had downloaded from Heather M's blog earlier in the day. It was a cute little favor box with a round tab at the top for fastening. I incorporated the butterfly into the tab to make this cute little box. It is sized for a Baby Bug, but you can re-size however you want. My finished box is a 1¾" cube - perfect for a hand-full of mints or Easter M&M's! I chalked the white under-wings that formed the clasp of the box, and chalked the edges with a different color. I cut the lacy-winged butterfly in half and glued to the two sides of the clasp.

The svg is $5.00 USD. Please use the Donate button to make your purchase, and leave a note under  "Purpose" on the PayPal page telling me which file it is that you want. Upon notification from Paypal of funds received, I will email you the svg and any related files. Thanks a bunch!

Bun in the Oven Gift Box

I saw the inspiration for this cute little oven over at Julie Campbells blog, stampedinhisimage.com.

She had seen it done by Lauren Meader for a baby shower gift. Lauren has a video showing how to make a cupcake (or "bun") out of little socks - so cute!
(Lauren's original box is here.) I had a blast making this - hope you do, too. I would love to see pictures, if you try it!

I used flowers for the burners, cause I thought Julie's were so cute, but Scrappingtable.com has a dingbat named Jirai that looks just like little stove burners. I outlined the stove top with black.

I added knobs on the front, and used tiny brads to attach the handle & make a hook for the gift tag/oven mitt on the side. The towel & oven mitt are paper...this was a practice in restraint for this old dressmaker! I used acrylic for the window in the door, reinforcing it with a frame on the inside so I could use the brads to attach the handle. An svg file follows for all the components but the box, which is too big for my baby bug, but is easily cut using the template below.

The dimensions are:
Paper 8½ x 11"
Scores for long side:  1", 4", 7½" 10½" (you will score the remaining two lines after scoring the short side.)
Scores for short side: 2½", 6"
Now go back and score at the half-inch mark, between the edge of the paper and the 1" score line, stopping the scores at the score lines made on the short side.
Score the "drawer" at 1 1/8" for the fold, and then, if you like, score some decorative rows, stopping before you get to the edge (I scored mine in a descending order, with each row getting a little longer toward the bottom.
Fold on all score lines except the last two.
Cuts: Cut up to the 1" score line, then cut away the 1/2" x 2½" pieces next to the 1" center bottom tab. Cut remaining dark lines shown in the template above.

Use strong tape to adhere the sides together - I used Terrifically Tacky red tape.

The .svg file is here.

Just for fun... you've got to watch this video - so great!  It gets better and better...enjoy!
